Orchard Acre Farm helps Fermanagh Kitchens De-Stress for Christmas

Ireland’s Best Seafood Restaurant comes ashore to Fermanagh for Christmas

This Friday 4th December at 7.30pm two formidable foodies;  Eithna O’Sullivan and Teresa O’Hare will demonstrate their All-Ireland award winning food skills at the famous Fermanagh small holding, Orchard Acre Farm near Irvinestown.  Their aim is to help Christmas cooks across the county minimize the stress of preparing their best ever Christmas lunch.

EithneEithna O’Sullivan owner of the Ireland’s Best Seafood restaurant at Mullaghmore joins local award winning farmer and cook Teresa O’Hare, Orchard Acre Farm to offer a cookery demonstration that will destress your kitchen while you defrost the turkey. Guests on the evening are sure to pick up tips and hints that will ensure their kitchens will serve Christmas delights for family and friends with ease and stress free, even by the most novice of cooks.

The annual Orchard Acre Farm Christmas Cookery demo welcomes budding and experienced cooks who will benefit from the pre prepared shopping lists, menu planners, recipes, tastings and practical advice that will ensure Christmas lunch is not the dread of many households.

Teresa explains, ‘We will be cooking with locally sourced produce along with standard cupboard ingredients.  At Orchard Acre Farm we love simple good food and want our guests to see how entertaining doesn’t have to be complicated to taste amazing and have unique twists.’

teresaTeresa continued, ‘I am so excited about this year’s special guest.  We both sing from the same menu, as it were. Both of us support local producers, both understand seasonal ingredients, both work with ingredients that we know we can actually get here in the West, and yet we remain creative. On Friday Eithna will share a few of her favourite Christmas recipes.’

A big difference to this year’s event has been the farm’s new web site and online booking system.  O’Hare explained that unlike before they now have bookings from outside of Fermanagh as well as locals.  ‘It would seem that people with an interest in food are making a weekend of it by booking our Cookery event and then staying overnight in Fermanagh.’
